Car A/C Pressure Relief Valve

By 10 August 2014

The problem with a fusible plug is that once the metal melts you lose the full contents of the refrigerant. This is harmful to the environment and can cause damage to vehicle components. To reduce the pressure in the system the pressure relief valve ejects only enough refrigerant to reduce the pressure in the system. Pressure relief valves are fitted to compressors and sometimes to receiver-driers.
