Car Valves In Receiver

By 3 March 2015

The valves-in-receiver (VIR) unit combines the functions of an expansion valve, a POA STV and a receiver/drier into one assembly. The VIR is usually installed near the evaporator. In a VIR unit, the temperature-sensing bulb and capillary tube for the expansion valve are eliminated because the diaphragm end of the expansion valve is directly exposed to the refrigerant vapor entering the VIR assembly from the evaporator outlet.
